Our MissionAt Centre Eye Physicians and Surgeons, we strive to provide the highest quality of care to every patient that we see. That includes not only an accurate diagnosis, precise medical treatment, and skillful surgical management, but also an emphasis on patient education. We are not happy unless every patient leaves with a clear understanding of not only what is to be done, but why it is to be done.

Practice HistoryCentre Eye Physicians and Surgeons traces its history back to 1965, when Dr. John Fisher opened his practice on College Avenue in State College and became the first ophthalmologist to serve the population of Centre County. Dr. David Werner joined the practice in 1978 and the practice then became known as "Central Pennsylvania Eye Associates." As Dr. Fisher began to take a less active role, the name of the practice changed in 2004 to "Werner Eye Associates." Dr. Adam Marcovitch joined the practice in 2006, further broadening the scope of the practice and the services offered. To reflect this expansion, the practice name was changed to Centre Eye Physicians and Surgeons in 2012.

Our BuildingMany patients ask us about our unique and historic State College office building. In 1973, Dr. Fisher and his wife Barbara had the creative idea of turning this old former fraternity house into a doctor's office. The building was in pretty rough shape when they bought it, but after renovations were complete it has served remarkably well for almost 40 years. It has gone through some expansions over the years, including the enclosure of a porch on the Fairmount Avenue side of the building and the addition of the space that houses the optical shop on the back of the building. Throughout all of these changes, the anchor of the building, the immense stone fireplace in the waiting room, remains unchanged.
